Hexagram 3 is second generation in the Kan palace. The table gives:

Reproducible checks

Hexagram 1 is a palace head: World 6, Response 3.
Hexagram 44 is first generation in Qian: World 1, Response 4.
Hexagram 35 is Soul-Wandering in Qian: World 4, Response 1.
Hexagram 14 is Soul-Returning in Qian: World 3, Response 6.

For every row, the absolute difference between the two positions is 3. If it is not, stop and correct the table lookup before continuing.

What the markers do not decide

World and Response do not select the target line, determine strength, or establish an interpersonal reading. Later lessons may use them as part of a declared judgment sequence. Here they are two exact chart fields.
