The Eight Palaces

Eight households of hexagrams, organized by ruling trigram.

The Jing Fang palace system groups all 64 hexagrams into eight houses of eight, each ruled by one of the trigrams. Within a palace, hexagrams are ordered by line transformation — from the palace head through five generations to the wandering and returning souls. This structure underpins Wen Wang Gua divination.
