When Combination Blocks Generation

A visible support line is not enough. This lesson asks whether support has a usable path to the selected target.
The worksheet combines three separately supported claims:
- the target’s Yuan Shen is the element that generates it;
- a line must be capable of acting before its generation can be used;
- in a declared Six-Harmony context, a moving line may be bound.
The path trace is an explicit UAYA teaching synthesis. It is not presented as a quotation or a deterministic event rule.

Do not skip from “pair present” to “support blocked.”
Blocked contrast
Example type: invented mechanics exercise; no outcome.
- target: Wood;
- support: a moving Zi Water line, which generates Wood;
- day branch: Chou, forming Zi–Chou harmony;
- applied context: the checked source’s moving-line-with-day bind.
Trace:
Zi Water support → bound by Chou day → generation has no unqualified path → Wood target
Record support path blocked under the named source context. Do not add a release date.
Unblocked contrast
Keep the Wood target and Zi Water support, but remove the Chou relation. If the support line is otherwise usable, the path is:
Zi Water support → generates → Wood target
Now add a Zi–Chou pair between two chart lines while only one moves. The pair remains visible, but it does not automatically inherit the same day-bound context. Record pair present; operative bind unresolved rather than forcing blocked or unblocked.
Trap and stopping condition
- Do not treat every harmony as a blockage.
- Do not let a strong support tier bypass void, Month Breaker, or an operative bind.
- Do not infer a calendar release here; that is a timing task.
- Stop when the binding authority or target connection is missing.
