A moving line creates a changed line.

The moving line is the cause. The transformed line is the effect. The reading is the relationship between them.

Cause Primary-side moving line

The line that initiates action, pressure, decision, illness, support, or obstruction.

Effect Changed-side line

The result the moving line produces.

Reading Relationship between them

Does the effect feed, attack, advance, retreat, bind, or disable the cause?

What to read

Read both sides, but do not flatten them.

Moving line Where the action starts

Its role, element, position, strength, and relation to the target matter first.

Transformed line Where the action goes

Its branch, element, role, and state show the result of the movement.

Relationship The actual dynamic

The transformed line may generate, control, intensify, weaken, bind, or redirect the moving line.

The transformed side is not a second target. It is also not a free agent. It is the result produced by the moving line, and its first job is to act back on that line.

Other chart lines do not normally generate, control, or receive from the transformed line directly. Month and Day can still act on it, and 6.3 handles the special cases where the transformed branch creates a combination or clash with the wider chart.

Read the moving side as the process beginning, then read the changed side as what that process becomes.

Case 1 preview

In Case 1, line 4 moves. The moving line is Officer / Wu / Fire. It transforms to Parent / Wei / Earth.

Fire generates Earth, so the surface read looks supportive. But the transformation also creates a combination lock, which Act 5 showed can block support from reaching the target.

That is why Act 6 starts here: transformation can be helpful, harmful, delayed, or blocked depending on the relationship.
