Qualitative Strength, Not Learner Scores

Record a line’s conditions in words. Do not invent points, add labels together, or convert the record into a probability.
The UAYA qualitative record
For this course, ordinary seasonal descriptions may be recorded as very strong, strong, moderate, weak, or very weak. These five phrases are UAYA worksheet vocabulary, not a claim that one classical source supplies a universal five-level scale.
Void and Month Breaker belong in separate fields. They are named conditions with their own rules, not weaker numbers on the same scale. Movement, day support, day clash, combination, harm, and punishment also remain visible as conditions instead of becoming hidden arithmetic.
Worked trace: Case 00035 target
Example type: documented chart mechanics; no outcome judgment.
The selected target is Yin Wood at bottom-up line 2. The recorded calendar is Chen month and Ji-Mao day, and the line is moving.

The artifact is line 2: weak seasonal baseline; supported by the day; moving. Nothing in this record authorizes “three points of support,” a probability, or a statement about the recorded weather outcome.
Counterexample: a state is not an addend
Case 00035 line 4 carries Shen, one of the Ji-Mao day’s void branches. Record void membership: yes, then retain its other observed conditions separately. A learner must not write void + seasonal support = weak or average the two labels.
Record the special state and continue to the rule boundary. Later lessons may discuss timing or doctrine, but they do not retroactively turn the worksheet into arithmetic.
Reproducible practice row
For one selected line, write:
position → branch/element → void? → Month Breaker? → seasonal description → day relation → other branch relations → movement → located rule → qualitative summary
If you cannot show the operation that changed the tier, mark the row unresolved.
Trap and stopping condition
- Do not present an uncited score as a traditional measure, probability, or confidence percentage.
- Do not combine void or Month Breaker with ordinary descriptions as if each were an independent quantity.
- Stop if the displayed tier cannot be reproduced from the recorded month, day, and line data.

The qualitative labels, field order, and summary format are UAYA course conventions. Seasonal, void, and Month Breaker rules are cited in their respective lessons.
