Judgment Commentary
Meng: below the mountain there is danger; danger and stopping make Meng. Meng succeeds because its way of proceeding is timely and centered. It is not I who seek the ignorant youth; the ignorant youth comes seeking me: the intent responds. At the first divination, I inform because of the firm center. If asked a second and third time, that is importunity; when importunate, I do not inform: this is importuning Meng. Meng nourishes correctness; this is the work of sagehood.
