The Family means that the woman rightly occupies the inner place and the man rightly occupies the outer place. When man and woman are rightly placed, this expresses the great meaning of Heaven and Earth. Within the family there is a stern authority; this means the father and mother. Father as father, son as son, elder brother as elder brother, younger brother as younger brother, husband as husband, wife as wife: then the family way is correct. When the family is set right, all under Heaven is settled.
