Quick Start Guide
Essential steps to begin your I Ching consultation journey
Forming Your Question
The quality of your reading often depends on the quality of your question:
- Be specific rather than general
- Focus on understanding rather than prediction
- Ask about situations within your influence
Examples of good questions:
- "What do I need to understand about my current career situation?"
- "How can I improve my relationship with my partner?"
- "What should I consider when making this important decision?"
The Consultation Process
- Enter Your Question
- Type your question in the consultation area
- Take a moment to reflect on it
- Ensure it captures what you truly want to understand
- Cast the Coins
- You will need to cast the coins 6 times to build your hexagram
- For each line: Either press the spacebar or click the "Cast Coin" button
- Watch as each line forms from bottom to top
- Each coin toss determines whether the line will be:
- Solid (yang)
- Broken (yin)
- Changing (will transform in your reading)
- Building Your Hexagram
- The first toss creates the bottom line
- Continue with all 6 tosses
- The hexagram builds upward with each toss
- Pay attention to any changing lines that appear. These are highlighted in orange.
- Receiving Your Reading
- Once all 6 lines are cast, your reading will be complete
- You'll see your primary hexagram
- If you have changing lines, you'll also see the resulting hexagram
