Eight Palaces (Ba Gong): A Structural I Ching Course
Eight Palaces Foundations: Keep the Source Layers Separate Distinguish hexagram structure, trigram imagery, palace classification, palace elements, later lineage rules, and UAYA teaching tools. How to Build the Eight Palaces Sequences Construct an Eight Palaces sequence from a doubled trigram, verify the Qian example line by line, and check all eight 64-hexagram families. Qian and Dui: Compare the Two Metal Palace Families Compare the verified Qian and Dui Eight Palaces sequences, their shared Metal classification, and the line-change operations at matching positions. Zhen and Xun: Build the Two Wood Palace Families Construct and compare the verified Zhen and Xun Eight Palaces sequences using a partially completed table and bottom-up line changes. Kan: Construct the Water Palace Family Construct the verified Kan Eight Palaces sequence and distinguish its unpaired Water classification from unsupported sequence narratives. Li: Construct the Fire Palace Family Construct the verified Li Eight Palaces sequence and separate its unpaired Fire classification from the Water/Fire pairing in Shuo Gua. Kun and Gen: Repair and Verify the Earth Palace Families Correct the Kun sequence, compare it with Gen, and use a 64-member uniqueness check to detect Eight Palaces table errors. Na Jia and the Six Relationships: A Palace Transfer Sheet Identify the palace-derived fields that later Na Jia and Wen Wang Gua work uses, then stop before interpretation, timing, or prediction. How Eight Palaces Supports Wen Wang Gua See the three structural inputs Eight Palaces contributes to Wen Wang Gua, their limits, and where the full Six Lines method begins. Scope, Later Applications, and Boundaries Learn how to audit Eight Palaces claims by separating verified structure, received text, later lineage use, analogy, and unsupported inference. Capstone: Construction, Sources, and Error Review Complete an Eight Palaces capstone by constructing sequences, checking sources, debugging errors, and stopping unsupported inference. Get in Touch
